Editorial Authority & Methodology

About FreeInjuryCalc

We combine statutory state legislation, historic insurance adjusters' evaluation standards, and data modeling to deliver instant, anonymous, and free case assessments.

Our Mission: Transparent Legal Information

Following a motor vehicle collision, slip and fall, or work accident, victims face significant physical, emotional, and financial burdens. Historically, checking the ballpark value of a claim online required completing complex lead-generation forms, which frequently resulted in aggressive sales calls from third-party marketing firms or law offices.

We believe that basic legal information and mathematical valuation models should be universally accessible without locks. FreeInjuryCalc was established to solve this problem by offering a 100% free, fully anonymous, and instant calculation engine. You can run unlimited calculations without entering an email address or phone number.

Our Editorial Board & Board of Advisors

To ensure our calculation models remain accurate and reflect standard industry practices, our platform is overseen by an editorial board of legal consultants and financial developers.

Our Calculation Methodology

Unlike generic online forms, FreeInjuryCalc's systems do not use a single "one-size-fits-all" multiplier. Our mathematical engines operate on distinct rules aligned with insurance claims processing standards:

Calculation Component Methodology Applied Purpose
Economic Losses (Special Damages) Direct aggregation of medical bills, projected future treatments, past lost wages, and property damages. Establishes the concrete out-of-pocket baseline.
Non-Economic Damages (General Damages) The Multiplier Method (1.5x to 5.0x based on severity) and Per Diem (daily rate modeling) models. Approximates compensation for pain and suffering and emotional distress.
Shared Negligence Deductions State-specific rules (Pure Contributory, Pure Comparative, or 50%/51% Modified Comparative negligence). Applies statutory deductions to simulate actual legal outcomes.
Insurance Policy Capping Optional selection of standard policy caps (e.g. $15k CA minimum, $100k standard, or commercial policy limit). Prevents unrealistic calculations by factoring in insurance limits.

Our database tracks updates for all 50 US states and Canadian provinces to reflect changes in comparative negligence statutes and bodily injury minimum liability thresholds.

Integrity & Ad-Supported Model

FreeInjuryCalc does not require sign-up, registration, or contact details to compute case values. To support calculations, server maintenance, and code upkeep, our platform relies on unobtrusive third-party ads (like Google AdSense). We receive compensation when visitors interact with ads, allowing us to keep this service open to the public without charging user fees or selling personal lead files.
